This course is run publicly once a month. You can request a date and time for the zoom session by contacting us. Or if you want to organise a private booking contact us to discuss the price and times.
HLTWHS005 - Conduct manual tasks safely: Important Information

You will need access to a trolley or cart or similar mechanical aid to move an object or box from one area to another. Participants must also have access to reliable internet so they can complete a self paced pre course online and then attend a 1 hour zoom video conference call.
All Zoom sessions are recorded for compliance purposes – all recordings are covered by our privacy policy in the student handbook below. Once booked in, you’ll have access to the pre course learning, which needs to be completed before your video conference call session time. This should not be left to the last minute, and it takes around 2-3 hours to complete.

- How to perform risk assessments.
- Types of hazardous manual tasks.
- Techniques for performing manual tasks safely.
- The risks associated with hazardous manual tasks.
- Ways of reducing the risk of injury and implementing control measures.
- Pre-requisites: Participants will need to demonstrate a variety of manual handling techniques simulating their work place in front of a camera. You will need access to a trolley or cart or similar mechanical aid to move an object or box from one area to another. Participants must also have access to reliable internet so they can complete a self paced pre course online and then attend a 1 hour zoom video conference call.
- Units: A Statement of Attainment with the following unit: HLTWHS005 Conduct manual tasks safely will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
- Delivery method and fees: Public session. Book into a 1 hour zoom session on our booking calendar. You will then have access to the pre course work. It is self paced so you can stop and return any time you like, and usually takes 2-3 hours to complete. It needs to be completed before you attend you booked zoom session. Join the zoom session with your own equipment to demonstrate correct manual handling techniques in your simulated workplace. Cost for this $66. Contact us to request a new date and time for a public session.
- Private booking: Contact us to request a private booking. It will also involve completing the same pre course work and attending a zoom session as above. Cost and length of the zoom session will depend on group size.
